Paddle Canada Moving Water Canoe Skills  (20 hours)

THEORY / LAKE: July 10 & 12, 7-9 pm;  RIVER: July 13 & 20, 9 am – 5 pm

Learn to: Select suitable river paddling equipment; common river hazards and how to avoid them; self-rescue and boat-assisted river rescue techniques; river maneuvers.  Paddle Canada Introduction Tandem Canoeing Skills is a firm prerequisite.

Paddle Canada Moving Water Kayak Skills  (20 hours)

Paddle Canada Introduction Lake Canoe Skills  (10 hours)

POOL: July 5, 7-9:30 pm; LAKE: July 6 – 8, 7-9:30 pm.

Learn to: Select suitable equipment; identify and avoid lake hazards; rescue yourself and others (in the swimming pool) ; efficiently paddle on a lake in a straight line and around obstacles; navigate in wind and waves; and safely prepare for a one-day paddle tour.  An essential prerequisite for River Canoeing.

Note: Intensive rescue practice will take place in the comfort and safety of the swimming pool.

Paddle Canada Level 1 Sea Kayak Skills (10 hours)

POOL: July 5, 7-9:30 pm; LAKE: July 6 – 8, 7-9:30 pm.

Private Paddling Lessons

Private: $50/hour; Semi-private: $40 per person/hour

Can’t make it to the course you want this summer? Here’s an option for you! Book a private or semi-private (2 people) lesson with one of our friendly, competent instructors (minimum two hours).

Youth Paddling Camps

 

Kids’ Paddle Camp (5 1/2 days )

POOL: July 7, 9 am – noon; LAKE: July 8 – 12, 9 am – 5 pm

Youth 7 to 11 years learn to: Select equipment; identify and avoid lake hazards; rescue themselves and others; basic canoe and kayak maneuvers, wilderness survival skills; and participate in a day tour.

Note: Intensive rescue practice will take place in the comfort and safety of the swimming pool.

Youth Adventure Camp (5 1/2 days )

POOL: July 28, 9 am – noon; LAKE: July 29 & 30, 9 am – 5 pm; TRIP: July 31 to Aug 2

Youth 12 to 15 years learn advanced self and team rescues in the swimming pool, and intermediate boat maneuvers on the lake.  Both canoeing and kayaking skills are covered.  This fun, yet intensive training is followed by a 3 day / 2 night paddle camping trip.

Motorboat Course

Pleasure Craft Operator Certification (PCOC)

This classroom based course, accredited by Transport Canada, helps boat operators understand the ‘rules of the waterway’, marine signs and markers, safety regulations, and what to do in the event of a marine emergency.  Successful participants will receive a PCOC card, which is a requirement to operate most motor boats on most Canadian waterways.
